Dr. Omar Rivera-Mojica, originally from Juncos, Puerto Rico, received his BS from Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA. During his years at UC, he was a member of the Biology National Honor Society and Vice-President of the Foreign Languages National Honor Society. Additionally, he was co-founder, President and Vice-President of Association of Latinos Motivated to Achieve, the first and only Hispanic organization on campus.

He attended and graduated from Inter American University of Puerto Rico - School of Optometry in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, where he was a member of various organizations including the American Optometric Student Association. Dr. Rivera-Mojica was also Vice-President of the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) organization where he helped organize and participated in two (2) missions to Dominican Republic to provide free eye exams and glasses to patients. During optometry school, Dr. Rivera-Mojica participated in an externship at ApoloVision in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico where he trained in diagnosis and management of ocular diseases. In addition, he was awarded membership to the Optometric National Honor Society for his academic achievements. After graduation, he further advanced his training in contact lenses and ocular disease at Gulf Coast Vision Center in Pensacola, FL. He has special interest in ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and contact lenses.

Dr. Rivera-Mojica is currently a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the Georgia Optometric Association, the Cornea and Contact Lens Section as well as the Sports Vision Section of the AOA.

Dr. Rivera-Mojica is our resident optometrist located at Marietta and Gresham Rd.
